“Yet, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our Potter, and we all are the work of Your hand.”
"Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."
“He must increase, but I must decrease. [He must grow more prominent; I must grow less so.]”
2 Timothy 2:21
“If any one purifies himself from what is ignoble, then he will be a vessel for noble use, consecrated and useful to the master of the house, ready for any good work.”
“And I am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.”
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. 17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.”
“For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant; later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”
“Come to me and I will give you rest—all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. 29 Wear my yoke—for it fits perfectly—and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; 30 "for I give you only light burdens."
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
“Then the Lord said: "O Israel, can’t I do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.”
