Protect the Mind Part 5_One Secret
Please pray first and ask for guidance and understanding from the Holy Spirit.
Today I will reveal one secret to maintain spiritual sharpness.
I have been doing this almost from the beginning of my walk of faith in Christ Jesus.
Daily Review! I believe that daily review is paying attention.
Dictionary definition for the word “review”: to view or see again, to examine or study again, to look back on, to go over or examine critically or deliberately
Dictionary definition for the word “Attention”: the act or state of attending especially through applying the mind to an object of sense or thought, observation, notice, consideration with a view to action
Synonym for “attention”: heed (Heed means to pay attention)
Hebrews 2:1 (AMP)
“SINCE ALL this is true, we ought to pay much closer attention than ever to the truths that we have heard, lest in any way we drift past [them] and slip away.”
In other words, if we do not pay much closer attention to God’s truth we will drift away from His truth.
As believers what should we pay attention to or heed?
The answer is in the following verse.
Deuteronomy 4:9 (RSV)
"Only take heed, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; make them known to your children and your children's children–"
We are to keep our soul diligently lest we forget.
Therefore, daily review will help us remember.
One resource I used was Saxon Math Method.
This next information came to the surface when our children were home schooling.
However, I was doing this method before I ever knew about Saxon Math.
“The Saxon method is distinctive because it emphasizes teaching math concepts in small chunks and provides extensive review of previously learned concepts.”
“Teachers who use and promote the Saxon approach to math instruction say that it is effective because it emphasizes mastery and retention of concepts.”
Here is a quote!
“I like Saxon Math because every day there is a review on something that you’ve already learned. Saxon covers a variety of concepts that build upon each other. Lots of practice and repetition and great ongoing review of skills and assessments.”

I believe this method (Saxon Math) is important today because of the complexity and speed of knowledge.
I believe knowledge is coming to fast. (Quickly)
This speed of knowledge can affect our comprehension. (Understanding)
We need understanding.

Synopsis.
Daily review is key to maintaining spiritual sharpness. It’s all about paying attention—revisiting and reflecting on God’s truth to prevent drifting away. Hebrews 2:1 and Deuteronomy 4:9 remind us to heed and diligently keep our soul. Just like the Saxon Math method emphasizes mastery through small chunks and ongoing review, our spiritual journey benefits from consistent reflection. In today’s fast-paced world, where knowledge comes rapidly, understanding can be compromised. Let’s prioritize comprehension through daily review to ensure our spiritual growth remains strong.
To win in the boxing ring of the mind we need to operate in the strength of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit! There is more!

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 (KJV)
I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
