Be strong and very courageous Joshua 1:7 You have a mission!

The Lord was with Joshua like He was with Moses. Joshua 1:5

Moses had a mission to accomplish.

Joshua had a mission to accomplish.

Jesus had a mission to accomplish.

Believers in Christ Jesus have a mission to accomplish. Such as Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20 and more…

As the Father sent Jesus in the world He (Jesus) has sent His children into the world. John 17:18

Therefore as we go forward in this world, be like Jesus, strong and very courageous!

Be determined and confident!

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD our God is with us wherever we go.

Because of Jesus IN us, no one will be able to defeat us as long as we live.

Jesus will always be IN us by the Holy Spirit and will never abandon us.

Jesus is our victory always!!!

John 17:18 (AMP)
“Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.”

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (RSV)
“Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.”

Summary.

This is a powerful and uplifting reflection on the mission and courage believers are called to embrace through Christ. The connection between Joshua, Moses, and Jesus emphasizes the continuity of God's presence and purpose throughout scripture. Joshua 1:5 reminds us that God's presence is steadfast, equipping His servants for the mission.

Joshua 1:5 (RSV)
No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.

Joshua 1:7 (RSV)
Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

  • John 17:18 highlights Jesus sending His followers into the world, just as the Father sent Him.
  • Matthew 28:18-20 and Mark 16:15-20 commission believers to go and make disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 encourages believers to be vigilant, steadfast, and loving in all they do.

"be strong and very courageous" aligns with God's repeated exhortations to Joshua and believers today. With Jesus in us through the Holy Spirit, we are never alone, and His victory becomes ours.
