Not in vain_Valuable Insights 7 Our work for the Lord is not in vain

1 Corinthians 15:57-58
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” RSV

Believers, you each have the same miraculous truth to share with those around you. Trust that as you witness to and preach the good news into the lives of seekers, you are giving them something real and life-changing to believe in and follow.

Non-believers, I challenge you to put your trust Jesus today. There will come a day when you realize the only actions in your life that bring blessing for eternity are what you do for Christ… everything else is vanity.

1 Corinthians 15:12-22
“Now if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.

For if the dead are not raised then Christ has not been raised. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied.

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.” RSV

(1) Because of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead:

(2) The believer’s faith is not in vain!

(3) The believers can properly represent God!

(4) The believer’s preaching is not in vain!

(5) The believers are no longer in their sins!

(6) The believers will not perish!

(7) Go out therefore and advance the kingdom of God, knowing that your labor is not in vain.
