Earn future trust by speaking the truth today. If we desire to be trusted we must be truthful.

People are looking for the truth. Are you searching for the truth? Jesus said in John 14:6, that He is the truth.

John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

There are many things that we can say about truth. There are several passages of scripture in the Bible about truth. Here is just one.

Ephesians 4:25
“Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.”

When I think of truth I think about a plumb-line.

Definition of “Plumb line” from two resources:

(Resource #1)

“A cord weighted with lead that is used in building to check that vertical structures are true. It is used symbolically to refer to the divine standard against which God, the builder of his people, tests and judges them. It also symbolizes the standards by which God will rebuild his people.”

(Resource #2)

“The plumb line symbolizes God’s word! God’s word is always straight, perfect and pure! God’s word represents total soundness and integrity!

Questions.

People say that the truth will set them free, but why do we see them not free?

Do we desire to be free every day?

Are we experiencing sporadic freedom?

Watch the video and discover the key to always being free.

Two key verses and two keywords: (Highlighted text added)

Both Greek numbers link to each other.

John 8:31-32 (RSV)
"Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue Gr #3306
in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32  and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

James 1:25 (NKJV)
25  But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and
continues Gr #3887 in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Greek #3306: abide, remain, dwell, tarry, endure, a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):- abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), × thine own.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

Greek #3887: abide, from <G3844> (para) and <G3306> (meno); to stay near, i.e. remain (literal tarry; or figurative be permanent, persevere): - abide, continue.
Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

See also John 15:1-17. Be alert to the following words which all use the Greek #3306. (Abide, abideth and continue

It seems that continuing with Jesus is the key to true freedom not just once, or when we are in a jam or a difficult situation.

Our life should be a communion with the One who loves us along with His Word.

Think about these words as you read John 15:1-17.
(My Father, My disciples, obedience, love, joy,
relationship, fellowship, friendship, communication, unity, harmony, union, and fruitfulness)

Bottom-line, continue with Jesus because without Him we can do nothing. (John 15:5)
