What to do when hurtful words come against you!
Note: When hurtful words come toward us from people, we ought or should know Matthew 5:44-48. (Simple Bible sense) We need to use our shield of faith (Part of God’s armor) to protect us. We cannot just sit or stand there and be battered. Listen to the audio teaching for more.
Matthew 5:44-48 (AMP)
But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 To show that you are the children of your Father Who is in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the wicked and on the good, and makes the rain fall upon the upright and the wrongdoers [alike].
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that?
47 And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that?
48 You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Furthermore, realize who we are against!
Ephesians 6:12 (RSV)
For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

(Highlights of the teaching)
What people say can hurt us! So, what can we do?
Ephesians 6:16
“besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts (Missiles) of the evil one.” RSV
Here is what we can do.
“I resist the devil with my shield of faith in Jesus name”
“All spiritual missiles against me- be destroyed in Jesus name”
We need to resist the enemy.
When I resist the devil, he flees from me.
James 4:7
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” RSV
Question. Is the enemy using us as missiles toward people?
We have a measure of faith. (Romans 12:3)
What is faith? (Hebrews 11:1)
Speak life to your situation!
I speak life to my situation, and I say, “Jesus is Lord”
Proverbs 18:21
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” RSV
“I choose life when I speak” (It is our choice Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
Deuteronomy 30:19-20
“I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live,
20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice, and cleaving to him; for that means life to you and length of days, that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them." (RSV)
Speak what we believe not what we doubt, fear, and worry about.
Romans 10:10
“For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved.” RSV
“I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that I am victorious”
Do not set our own trap by what we speak.
Proverbs 6:2
“You are snared with the words of your lips, you are caught by the speech of your mouth” AMP
“I speak the words of Jesus in any situation in Jesus name”
“I am free from any trap”
