Our prayer focus is on Faith Osborne.

Faith since birth has had four open-heart surgeries.  Some months ago, Faith had a major reconstruction to her heart.

On August 7th am 2011, Faith was rushed to the emergency room.

Her prayer needs are as follows:

(1) God's wisdom to be manifested for all doctors and those involved

(2) Swelling in her body would go down

(3) Heart rhythm would go back to normal

(4) Total healing in her body

Pastor Craig, Renee, and their son Josiah are grateful for all your prayers.

New update 5-8-12

Note: The truths in this update can be used in other similar situations.

The end of April Faith's cardiologist called wanting to set up some tests in advance of her regular 6month check up.  He asked if we would be okay with blood work to check on Faith's protein levels, I informed the Dr that we had been thinking about calling to ask for the blood test because things were going so well.  When the protein results from the blood test came in the Dr called saying, "It's great news!"  "Faith's protein level is higher than it has ever been!"  The Dr gave us permission to continue to move Faith towards a normal diet!

It is our understanding that once a person struggles with low proteins, they will always struggle with it.  It doesn't just go away but is managed with diet.  Faith has experienced a miracle from God!!  PRAISE HIM!!

1 Corinthians 2:5
"...faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God."

Character quality to consider

Gratefulness vs. Unthankfulness
Making known to God and others in what ways they have benefited my life.  (IBLP)

Update 10-26-11

Faith had her blood tested recently and they found that her protein levels have gone back down to where they were when we went to the ER a few months back.  They put her back on a strict diet and want to wait and see what happens.  They are in no rush to do any procedures at this time, which we are very thankful for.

Please continue to pray that the pressure in Faith's veins (the cause of the low proteins) goes down and that her protein levels return to a normal level.

Faith has been praying hard for this and asking her friends and teachers to pray for her also, she is believing for a miracle.

Thank you so much for your covering over Faith and our family!!  It's greatly appreciated!

Blessings.
Craig

I have always committed to give praise to God in all situations because HE is good!  It's never a good idea to forget to praise Jesus when He has broken through in your life and done something amazing.  So, I'm giving praise for Jesus breaking through in Faith's life this week.

Two weeks ago Faith went to bed and after 2 hours woke up with swelling in her face, we immediately thought it was allergies and gave her Benadryl.  She was up most of the night and early that morning her face was swollen so much that both of her eyes were almost swollen shut.  Renee took her to the ER right away.  After filling in the Dr about Faith's heart condition, her cardiologist was contacted and he requested blood work.  They found out that because of Faith's last surgery (18 months ago) she was now loosing protein and that was causing the swelling.  They put her on medication to bring the swelling down and we saw her cardiologist 2 days later.

At the cardiologist appointment, we were told that Faith needed to have a cardiac cath procedure to try and relieve pressure in her veins, which was causing her to lose protein.  10% of people that have had her heart procedure done struggle with this problem.  Faith was also put on a special diet to help manage the protein loss.  The Dr said he wanted to have another blood test done in 2 weeks to check her protein level again.

Yesterday we went in for that blood work.  I spoke with the Dr Today and he said her protein level has returned to a normal level The cardiac cath procedure has been cancelled, her medication has been cut in 1/2 and we have been given freedom in her diet again!  Through much prayers, tears and holding on to Jesus, we have seen God come break through in Faith's life again!

Very early in Faith's life God gave us a Scripture promise from 1 Corinthians 2:5 'so that your Faith wouldn't rest on the wisdom of man but the power of God.'  There are many things that happened in Faith life that the Dr can't explain, but that's because it's not a result of man's wisdom but it's come through God's great power!

Praise you Lord for what you have done!  We hold on to this and take it has yet another sign that you will completely heal Faith's heart one day!

Update 8-16-11

From Pastor Craig Osborne (Her father)

The swelling that Faith had has subsided and is back to normal now.  The swelling is a symptom of Faith losing a specific type of protein from her body.  I spoke to her cardiologist yesterday and he wants to wait for one more week before he tests her blood for the protein level.  If the protein level has returned to normal, they will not perform any further procedures at his time.

(8-9-11) Pastor Renee wrote:

Faiths heart function is good. The fluid seems to be only in her face and not around the heart which is good. But we need to eliminate all fluid. Right now she's staying on her heart meds and we are lowering fat intake and increasing protein intake.

They are going to move forward step by step to help fix this problem.

The first step is a cardiac catheterization, this is a day surgery where they go in through a main artery to check pressures in her heart and perform some surgical procedures. Faith has had a few of these. It is not open-heart surgery.

In the mean time we are advised to keep a close eye on swelling and other symptoms we are thankful it wasn't worse then it is, but we understand it is still very serious and cannot stay this way, steps towards healing need to be taken. Thank you every one for your prayers.

We are now waiting for the time to do the surgery.

Suggested prayers:

(1) Believe God for His timing in all areas.
(2) Elimination of all fluid.
(3) Thoroughness manifested for all those involved.
(4) Endurance manifested for all involved.
(5) Cautiousness for all doctors and others involved.
(6) Total healing to take place.
(7) The heavenly Father glorified.

Character qualities needed as we go:

Thoroughness vs. Incompleteness
"Knowing what factors will diminish the effectiveness of my work or words if neglected." (IBLP)

Endurance vs. Giving up
"The inward strength to withstand stress to accomplish God's best." (IBLP)

Cautiousness vs. Rashness
"Knowing how important right timing is in accomplishing right actions." (IBLP)
