Can Jesus depend on believers to pray for governing (civil) authorities?
Dependability vs. Inconsistency
"Fulfilling what I consented to do even if it means unexpected sacrifice" *(IBLP)

To be dependable we will need the whole armor of God because there will be opposition.
To be dependable we need to be constant in prayer.

(Highlighted text added)
Ephesians 6:18
"Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints," RSV

(Suggested Prayers)
Dear Father, I ask that You cause those in government authority to renew their mind according to Your Word, in Jesus name Amen.

Romans 12:2

"do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." NKJV

"Dear Father I ask that You teach those in government authority how to use their delegated authority in their areas of jurisdiction, in Jesus name Amen."

Acts 16:16-18
"Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation." And this she did for many days.

But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her." And he came out that very hour." NKJV

"Dear Father I ask that You assist government authorities to develop the character qualities of Your Son Jesus Christ, cause them to be persuasive in presenting the truth, and cause them to set their priorities aright in harmony with Your ways in Jesus name, Amen."

Romans 4:17
"as it is written, "I have made you the father of many nations" - in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist." RSV

Ephesians 5:1
"THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]." AMP

Consider this account involving dependability

Matthew 26:36-41
"Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go and pray over there." And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me."

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." NKJV
